Ingredients
- 20 each McCain Smiles
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 (1-ounce) packet taco seasoning
- 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup diced white onion
- ½ cup sliced jalapenos
- 1 cup salsa, any kind
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Add the Smiles and bake, flipping once, until golden and crispy, about 12 to 16 minutes.
- While Smiles are cooking, prepare taco meat. Set a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until cooked through, 5 to 6 minutes. Stir in the taco seasoning and water (according to package directions) and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook, stirring often, until thickened, about 4 to 5 minutes.
- Arrange Smiles on a platter and top each with prepared taco meat. Place cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, jalapenos and salsa in individual bowls for the toppings bar. Serve and enjoy.
If Using the Air Fryer to prepare Smiles:
Preheat the air fryer to 300°F. Working in batches, place Smiles in the basket in a single layer and cook, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy, 7-9 minutes.
