The Ultimate Snacking Board
Ingredients
- 12 McCain Smiles (22 oz bag)
- ½ bag McCain Sweet Potato Crinkle Fries (19 oz bag)
- ½ bag McCain Craft Beer Battered Fries (22 oz bag)
- ½ bag McCain Craft Beer Battered Potato Slices (26 oz bag)
- 12–16 oz assorted cheeses, sliced, cubed or wedges
- 3–4 prepared dips of your choice (see suggestions in Chef’s Notes)
- 1 cup olives or dried fruit such as apricots, cherries or cranberries
- 8–12 oz cured meats, such as salami, prosciutto, ham, turkey or capicola
- 1 bunch of grapes or 1 pint of berries
- Assorted nuts
- Optional decorations: mini pumpkins or gourds
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Prepare two large, non-stick baking sheets.
- Arrange the frozen McCain Smiles in a single layer on one baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and turn the Smiles. Add the frozen McCain Sweet Potato Crinkle Fries and Craft Beer Battered Fries in separate sections, spreading evenly in a single layer. Return to the oven.
- After 10 minutes, turn the fries and add the frozen McCain Craft Beer Battered Potato Slices to the second baking sheet. Place in the oven and bake for an additional 6–8 minutes. Turn the Potato Slices and continue baking for another 6–8 minutes, or until all potato products are golden and crispy.
- Meanwhile, arrange the cheeses, cured meats, olives, dried fruit, fresh fruit, nuts and prepared dips on a large serving board or platter, leaving space for the potatoes. Keep perishable ingredients refrigerated until shortly before serving.
- Arrange the hot potato fries in separate sections on the prepared board and serve immediately. This board is your creation! Mix and match your favourite cheeses, cured meats, dips and accompaniments to create the ultimate sharing experience.
Chef’s notes
Choose a selection of savoury and sweet dips to complement the different McCain fries. Suggested accompaniments include classic ketchup, hot honey mustard, cranberry mayonnaise, warm cheese dip or a creamy ranch.
Prepare and arrange the charcuterie ingredients in advance, then add the freshly cooked, hot fries just before serving to ensure they remain crisp and delicious.
