Extra Crispy Classic Fries FAQs
What’s the difference between extra crispy fries and regular fries?
The key difference between extra crispy fries and regular fries is texture. Extra crispy fries have a light batter coating consisting of ingredients like rice, potato & corn starch, rice flour, and paprika. This combination boosts crunchiness and helps this fry type hold a firm structure longer, even when topped with sauces or cheese. Regular fries are uncoated, which gives them a softer exterior and a more traditional bite.
What makes McCain Extra Crispy Fries so crunchy?
McCain’s Extra Crispy Fries owe their lasting crunch to a blend of potato science and carefully chosen ingredients. Our potatoes are par-fried, coated with rice flour, corn starch, potato starch, and mild leavening agents, then flash-frozen. This special coating forms a thin, moisture-resistant layer that keeps fries fluffy inside while their outside turns crisp when cooked as instructed in your oven or air fryer. As a result, your fries stay crunchy from the first bite to last.
Can I use Extra Crispy Fries for loaded fries recipes?
Extra Crispy Fries are the perfect base for loaded creations because their rigid surface holds up various toppings. Try layering them with chili and shredded cheese, topping with pulled pork and BBQ sauce, or creating a platter with jalapeños, sour cream, and salsa. Every bite is sure to stay flavorful and satisfying from the firm texture these extra crispy fries keep.
What dipping sauces go best with Extra Crispy Fries?
McCain’s Extra Crispy Fries pair well with a wide variety of sauces. Classic options include ketchup, ranch, and honey mustard, while bold choices like chipotle mayo, garlic aioli, or truffle ketchup elevate flavor profiles. More creative options include beer cheese, buffalo ranch, or even sweet chili sauce to spice up your meals.
